THE STORY
BORN AT A SOCIAL,
NOT IN AN OFFICE.
The good ideas always land at the same moment: when the band starts the last song and nobody wants to go home.
I was at a camp, around three, against the wall with my shoes in my hand. Someone shouted “more jazz, please” towards the stage. And they actually played it. I looked down at what I was wearing and thought: I own nothing from any of this. Only event tees with a 2019 date printed on them, kept out of affection and never worn.
I wanted clothes that spoke our language without translating it. The things we genuinely say to each other: the one shouted at the band, the one every teacher repeats until it finally reaches your knees, the dance described as what it actually is — a conversation — and the truth about where the paycheck goes.
Front or back, you decide: small on the chest if you would rather say it quietly, large across the back because that is where it is read by whoever follows you in the line of dance. 210 gsm cotton, because it has to last from the first swing out to the last song. Oversized, because nobody should be denied their bounce.
No dates, no event logos. Things you wear to work on Monday that get you recognised on the floor before you have even danced.
